The Connecticut League for Nursing acknowledged 65 nurses for impacting life and the profession in Connecticut and as marked a milestone in its own history.

The organization is celebrating 65 years of serving nursing and nurse education within the state of Connecticut, according to a release from Executive Director Marcia B. Proto.

The organization recognized 65 nurses as part of the "65 over 65" festivities for their contributions over the past weeks and as part of luncheon Friday at Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.

The organization is dedicated to enlarging educational access and opportunity for all nursing faculty, practitioners and students.

"Our focus is to create better, easier ways to access the latest nursing information, identify schools and programs to earn additional academic degrees, and help you develop the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and competencies needed to advance your career,” said officials with the CLN, addressing nurses on the website. "We also provide programs and opportunities to practice and develop your leadership skills. We understand the challenges nurses face in today’s ever-changing health care environment and provide programming, support and mentoring to address these challenges."
