A Connecticut fitness model who is a famous instagramer was arrested in San Diego, last week in connection to bank robberies in Connecticut.

Aspiring model David Byers always sizzled Instagram with his many experimental looks.

Photographer, Michael Stokes described Byers as one of his popular models.

Stokes always conducted the photo shoot session of the 34-year-old. The two got to know each other during multidary shoots.

"He texted me on Tuesday last week and said everything was great. He said he moved to New York, life is good," Stokes said.

A footage recorded in the surveillance camera showed Byers inside a bank.

According to investigators, While Byers was on the East Coast, he made his way to Greenwich, Connecticut, robbed the same bank on two consecutive days and also holding up a gas station.

Police said that officers chased Byers, but the suspect bailed out of his car and ran across traffic.. Officers then searched on the ground and in the air, but could not find him.

Later, on Thursday night, authorities found him nearly 3,000 miles away in San Diego. His distinctive neck tattoo helped investigators to the arrest.

Stokes, who only knows the model side of Byers, could not believe it's the same guy.

"Nice guy, I mean, I'm surprised by all this," Stokes said. "David has never struck me as a violent person."

Police hope to extradite Byers to Connecticut, where he will face multiple charges, including first-degree robbery.
